How Ira teaches owners and dogs together, using verbal guidance, coaxing and praise without shock collars.
Start with communication
The K-9 Handler® focuses on teaching you how to communicate with your dog. Ira demonstrates the commands and handling skills, then helps you practice them so training can continue at home.
Ira’s published method uses verbal guidance, coaxing and praise, without shock collars or food rewards. It draws on his military and police working-dog background and his experience teaching pet owners.
What verbal training actually does
Consistent cues help you practice the same skill from one session to the next. Start with manageable distractions and ask Ira how to adjust the exercise when your dog struggles.
Owner instruction is part of each session. The goal is for you to understand what to practice, when to progress and when to ask for help.
Have a dog who could use this?
Start with a 2–3 hour evaluation and first training visit at your home, $199, included in every package.
Does it work for every dog?
Suitability and progress vary. Ira works with a range of breeds and ages, and the first evaluation helps establish whether his program fits your dog’s needs.
Severe fear, aggression or sudden behavior changes may need veterinary assessment and may fall outside the package scope. Discuss your dog’s history before booking.
Questions to ask about any training plan
Ask which methods and equipment will be used, how you will practice at home, what progress looks like and how the plan will change if your dog struggles. Clear answers help you make an informed choice.
